Feature Summary

Allow SI drafters to control the order subjects appear in their SI by being able to re-order the subject in the Subject, sub-subject and extents dialogue box.

Original Description

If you put subject headings in the wrong order and then remove one, they won’t reorder themselves again so we have ended up having to enter them all from scratch.  Is there a fix for this or will we just need to re-enter them?

We think the main point is for the drafter to be able to control the order. SIP (3.8.6) gives the option of firstly listing in order of relevance or importance, but, if not, using alphabetical order, and we rarely do list alphabetically. The order we use will be quite subjective to the content of the SI so the important thing for the scope would be that 1) the drafter can control what order the subject headings appear and 2) if a subject heading needs to be added in later on, it doesn’t default to going at the end of the list, in case that’s not what the drafter wants (because at the moment this means the drafter then has to delete all the subject headings and start again).
