Version 17.2.0 is a minor release, containing a number of bug fixes and some changes necessary to enable Lawmaker to run over split infrastructure. Initially
Version 17.2.0 was released on 11 November 2024.
Infrastructure split
Which instance you will use is determined by the organisation you belong to.
Once v.17.2 is deployed, Lawmaker will be split as follows:
All users in the House of Lords, House of Commons, OPC, PCO and the Scottish Parliament will use one instance (instance 'p'),
All users in SI-drafting organisations will use the other instance (instance 's').
Users You can log on to Lawmaker as they you have done previously (e.g. at https://lawmaker.legislation.gov.uk) and they you will be automatically redirected to the correct instance .Version 17.2.0 was released on [11 November 2024](so there is no need to do anything different after the release of this version).
The only visible difference is that the web address shown in your browser will now start https://lawmaker.legislation.gov.uk/p or https://lawmaker.legislation.gov.uk/s once you have logged in.
When a new project is created, the project ID will now have an extra character identifying the instance it was created on - this is to avoid any possibility that two projects could end up with the same ID.
You can still share a document with a user who is based on the other instance. When you share in those circumstances, a copy of the document is automatically created on the other instance. (See Sharing a document with another organisation).
