You can collapse and expand provisions in the Editor which can make it easier to work on specific provisions without being distracted by others and can help with performance. In Lawmaker this is called “folding”.
Large documents with most of their provisions folded will also perform better in the Editor than the document with all provisions expanded.
By default, documents will open in a folded state if there are over a certain size. When you save or refresh your document over that sizeWhen you first open a document, all provisions will be folded apart from the one containing your cursorunfolded but you can quickly fold all provisions if you want.
Provisions than can be folded are shown in the Editor with a small triangle to their left. The provisions that can be folded are:
Group of Parts
Parts
Chapters
Cross headings
Sections
Schedules
Schedule Parts
Schedule Chapters

How to fold or expand a provision
To fold or expand a particular provision, either
Right-click within the provision and select Folding... >Toggle Fold from the context menu, or
Click on the triangle icon button in the left margin alongside the provision's number (or heading if it is a cross heading).
How to unfold all provisions
To expand all provisions in your document, right-click anywhere in the Editor and select Folding…>Expand All from the context menu.
There is also a keyboard shortcut, Ctrl + NumPad* (i.e. the “*” key on the numpad of your keyboard).
How to fold all other provisions
Right-click in the provision you want to remain unfolded select Folding…>Collapse Other Folds from the context menu.
The system will fold all provisions in the Editor, apart from the one where you cursor is placed
How to fold all other child provisions
E.g. if you want to fold all sections within a chapter; or all cross headings within a part etc.
Right-click in an element within one of the foldable higher level provisions (e.g. part, chapter, cross heading, schedule or schedule part) that contains foldable child provisions and select Folding...>Collapse Child Folds from the context menu.

In Bills, sections and schedule paragraphs. When these are folded, you’ll still be able to see the section number and heading but not any of the content.
In SIs, regulations/articles/rules and schedule paragraphs. When these are folded, you’ll still be able to see the regulation etc. heading and number but not any of the content.
In amendment lists, any quoted structure within an amendment . When these are folded, you’ll just see (folded) instead of the quoted structure content
How to fold all provisions or expand all provisions
You can use the buttons in the toolbar to quickly collapse all provisions or expand them all.
