Introduction

Releasing locks should only be used as a last resort – when the user(s) with active locks on a document are uncontactable e.g. gone on holiday.

How to release locks

  1. If you are unable to contact the user(s) who have active locks on a document, in the upper toolbar, select ‘Document > Release All Locks’
  2. The system will release all active locks on the document and create snapshot versions of all users’ changes so that their changes are not lost.

Hints and tips

  • All users in the same organisation will be able to view the snapshot version just in case there were edits made to that version that needed to be retrieved
  • No labels
