If the bill is an Executive Bill, the OLC will need to share it with NI Assembly before you can access it

  1. Find the Project on the Dashboard​

  2. If the Bill was an Executive Bill shared with you from OLC, you will find the bill version on right hand side of the ‘Project’ tab with the label ‘Shared’

  3. Duplicate this version to create a working version that can be edited ​

  4. Open the bill that is ready for introduction in the Editor:​

    1. Update Document Information

      1. Check the short title is correct,

      2. Check the subtype is correct e.g. 'Executive Bill'

      3. Update the Version rubric to “As Introduced”

      4. Add the correct Mandate e.g. '22-27'

      5. Add the bill number e.g. 'NIA Bill 22'

      6. Add the introduction date

      7. Add the Sponsor, selecting the name and not the ministerial/chair title

    2. Check document check warnings: generally “advisory” warnings can be ignored if you disagree with them; but mandatory ones should ideally be addressed.​

    3. Delete all J-refs: ​

    4. Check & re-insert front & back covers/table of contents as required​

    5. Generate a PDF (select line numbering)​

  5. Send PDF for checking
