How to view J-refs in cross references in PDFs
In the “Generate PDF” dialogue box, select “Show J numbers in margin” under the ‘Extras’ section
Lawmaker will display J-refs in any cross references where the target section/schedule/regulation (etc.) was assigned a J-ref
Hints and tips
You can optionally view J-refs in cross references in the Editor and in PDFs. See “Managing cross references” for more information
If you added a numerical value to a J-ref e.g. “D123”, when you choose to insert a J-ref in the next provision after it, the system will suggest the next reference in sequence e.g. “D124”
J-refs must be unique (within the document), alphanumerical and up to 10 characters long
J-refs can be inserted against sections (Bills), Regulations (or Articles etc.) (SI/SSIs) and against Schedules (Both)
If you use the structure view to insert a J-ref, you can insert it from any provision below a Section (for Bill) or Regulation (or Article etc.) for an SI/SSI but it will be inserted against the parent section/regulation/article etc.
