IMPORTANT - before you submit your amendments in Lawmaker, make sure you share your list of amendments with the Bill Office first via email in a PDF document….[add business process here]…
From the Amendment Workspace tab—
Find your list of draft amendments, and
Click on the pencil icon to open your list in the Editor.
In the Editor—
Click on the ‘Document Information’ icon (3rd button down) to expand the Document Information right-hand panel
Click on the Submit List button
A 'Confirm amendment submission' dialog box appears summarising whether the amendments can be submitted.
If all amendments are ready for submission and you are happy to send them to the Bill Office, click on the Submit button
All the amendments in the list will be updated to status “Submitted” and ownership of the amendments will switch to the Bill Office resulting in read only access for OLC users and full edit rights for NIA users.
You will still be able to view your submitted amendments and any changes that the Bill Office make to them.
Submitting amendments from the Editor results in a duplicate version of your amendment list being created called “Submitted - [Date and Time]” which is then shared with the Bill Office.
You can only submit from the Editor if all amendments in your list are ready for submission.
OLC users are unable to undo a submission. If you submit amendments in error—
Contact the Bill Office so they are made aware (they will need to reject the amendments submitted in error).
You still won’t have edit rights to amendments with a status of “Rejected”. If you wanted to continue editing the submitted amendments, you will need to copy them to a different stage selecting the current stage and bill version. This will create a duplicate of all the selected amendments, removing the ‘submitted’ status allowing you to edit and resubmit when ready.
