Inserting formulae

To start—

  • You will need a project in the Lawmaker training environment

  • Open a working version document in the Editor

Insert a formula

In your test bill, insert a new section and have a go at recreating the following 3 sections containing formulae:

  1. To insert the formula, select Insert > Insert Math Formula from the upper tool bar

  2. When you insert your formula, a “where—” statement will automatically appear under it

    1. To delete this ‘where—’ text if it is not required (like in the section 3 example below)—

      1. place your cursor anywhere in the word ‘where—’

      2. click on Text in the breadcrumb

      3. delete it by using backspace, delete key or right-clicking and selecting ‘Delete Element’

    2. To add the unnumbered list of items under the ‘where—’ statement—

      1. place your cursor anywhere in the word ‘where—’

      2. click Enter to view the insert menu

      3. scroll to the bottom and select ‘List’

      4. ignore the bullet point that appears by default and add your list items one-by-one

      5. when you have finished, place your cursor in any of the list items

      6. right-click and select Update List Style

      7. select the appropriate option and click Update

all items in the list will be updated accordingly
