LMS-810 Numbering format for Court Rules

Feature summary requirement

Update the auto-assign number algorithm so that it includes legal numbering style.

Provide the ability to give the user the correct next number, and leave the user to decide when the major number is changing

  • The second number needs to be followed by a full stop.  E.g.:

1.0.

1.1.

1.2.

1.3.

  • Legal numbering is used (occasionally) for SI Prov1 Rule elements and it would need to work the same way with Prov2 numbers when they appear on the same line e.g. 2.1.—(1)

  • Apply the same auto-assign logic for when inserting numbers between 2 in a sequence to the second number after the first point e.g.

    1. Between 1.1. and 1.2. would be 1.1A.

    2. Before 1.1. = 1.A1.

    3. Between 1.1. and 1.1A. would be 1.1ZA.

Original description

Lawmaker needs to support the number format for Court Rules, ie: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. An example can be found here -  The Family Procedure Rules 2010 (legislation.gov.uk).

Some clarification on the rules for inserting provisions (ie 1.1A, 1A.1A) maybe needed from SI Hub.

The requirements comes from the MoJ at their demonstration ahead of their rollout on 18 January. Jack estimated there is usually a Court Rule published every couple of months.

A user story has already been created - https://legi-project.teratext.leidos.com.au/jira/browse/LDAPP-4194
